I actually like that song. It's a US Blues rip off but I like that it pissed people off. I'm contrary that way : )

Besides, it aint like it's a BAD message although the irony is the band obviously never took that advice which worked out great for all of us

I realized after I posted that you might of--otherwise it would of made your dream list. I was at the show where thay busted it out--and we all liked it at the time. Jer just seemed to like it a little too much. He kinda went Bobby on us...oops, I did it again!

Bobby would have left forever if he only got one song in a first set!
I too would prefer 90% Jerry but you gotta go one jerry than one bobby and so on to make a real list!

well...there is Throwing Stones, Bobby's epic.
I'm more of a fan of his playing, not singing.

Living in Texas, one is often exposed to country music that is horribly painfully awful. I think the songs El Paso, Me and My Uncle and Mama Tried (although covers)are all awesome songs especially with Keith's honky-tonk piano playing. So is Friend of the Devil when they sloooow it down. I would want to see one of those songs for a little country flavor.

Also I would rather hear Ramble on Rose than Row Jimmy to hear Jerry hit "Take you to the leader of the band!" That is one of my favorite lines up there with "Wish I was a headlight on a northbound train!"

And finally, after listening to most of the October shows from 1968, I think The Eleven would be a critical part of a dream set for me. The drumming in those shows is like jazzy machine gun fire that commands a smile or a laugh or simply puzzled amazement.

From Ramble on Rose, I always liked "The grass ain't greener, the wine's not sweeter, either side of the hill"

Whiskey In the Jar

Second Set
